Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is a dry and crisp wine, characterised by a varied and complex aromatic bouquet. On the palate, with a marked acidity, it expresses freshness, roundness and a beautiful structure with excellent aromatic persistence. After gently being deposited in oak barrels and fermented for several months, this wine gives a wonderful restoration of the unique flavours of this grape.
History
Sauvignon Blanc is an aromatic grape variety of the Loire Valley. It is widespread in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It has found a favourable soil on the rocky and lean hillsides of Valais. Harvested late, it can be found in the composition of some sweet wines such as l’Or de Conthey.
Vinification
Vinified in oak barrels for nearly 6 months, Sauvignon Blanc gives a dry and fragrant wine, which melts slowly and ages very well. Harvested late, it can be found in the composition of some sweet wines, especially l’Or de Conthey.
Gastronomy
Sauvignon Blanc Jacques Germanier is a dry, lively and fruity white wine. It goes well with salads, fish, seafood, Asian cuisine or as an appetiser.
