Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon
This overmatured wine (nearly 100 grams of residual sugar/liter) is made of variety of grapes from the first to the second era, giving a fruity wine with typical aromas. Sémillon and Riesling share the ability to age nobly thanks to natural and beneficial “fungus”. Commonly called “botrytis cinerea”, it has the power to evaporate the water in the grapes and thus reduce it has acidity while increasing the residual sugar. A golden colour and powerful notes of marzipan, white fruit and honey announce an overmatured ample and concentrated wine. The palate presents freshness and delicacy.
A specialty of ours for over 20 years, this blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon comes from the late harvest of the impressive terraces of Conthey and Sion.
For several months, the various varieties that make up l’Or de Conthey are kept in new oak barrels, which gives this blend a very good ageing potential and a unique taste for an exceptional blend.
It goes perfectly with foie gras, ice cream or a dessert with red fruits.
