Sparkling wine, Brut du Valais
To the eye: light lemon colour, very fine and regular droplets. Nose: complex, floral, with a nutty touch and a slight hint of toast. Palate: elegant and with a pleasant liveliness. Round, balanced palate with a touch of sweet lime. Long finish, very harmonious, accompanied by a touch of honey.
History
In the late eighties, Jacques Germanier pioneered in the Swiss wine-making environment with the launch of a Chardonnay-based sparkling wine: Brut du Valais. From the start, Jacques Germanier elaborated this sparkling wine in the manner of our neighbours from Champagne, thus taking advantage of a age-old expertise. The encounter between this expertise and the quality of grapes from Valais gave rise to this Blanc de Blancs with unique flavours and scents.
Vinification
Clusters of Chardonnay grapes, picked fully ripe, placed without crushing or stemming in the press, slowly fermented in bottles, stored for at least 36 months on laths in a wine warehouse at a constant temperature, followed by a meticulous riddling and disgorging, which gives Brut du Valais Cuvée Rosée all the qualities of a great sparkling wine.
Gastronomy
Brut du Valais can be enjoyed as an appetiser, during a full meal with fish, shellfish or meat. Delicate and fruity, it will win over the younger generation, as well as connoisseurs.
